Singles
The single's ministry at Church of the Open Door is divided into two groups:
The College and Career Singles - These are young adults who have graduated from High School and are beginning their careers, or attending a school or college. The ages of this group are anywhere from eighteen to twenty-nine years of age and who have never been married. Many of these singles attend college either locally, or in distant states and the attendance fluctuates throughout the year. The class is directed by Justin and Emily Russell.
The Faithful Singles - These are folks that are anywhere from twenty-five to fifty-five. They are individuals who may have never been married, may have been separated or divorced, or widowed. The class is directed by Alan and Rebecca Albaugh.
Each group meets for a Sunday Morning Bible study at 9:45 am It is a time for fellowship and refreshment as they learn to grow in Christ. Activities are planned outside of the Sunday class time and that information can be obtained by contacting the group leaders.
Other ministries that relate to the Faithful Singles group are:
DivorceCare, a support and recovery group designed' to meet the challenges of those going through a separation or divorce.
DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K) is a support group for the children of divorcing parents. DC4K is aimed for children ages six to fourteen and helps them deal with the difficulties they face when their parents’ divorce.
Griefshare is a ministry designed to help recent widowers. It explains the grief process as well as providing support during this difficult time.
