From My Heart
I have always heard adults say the older you get the quicker the time passes! I agree with that! I think this was the shortest summer I have ever experienced! Someone said, “Time stands still for no one!” It is the middle of August already and school is about to start again, our college kids will soon head off for another year, and the peace and quiet of the summer are about to undergo a dramatic change.
Karen and I want to thank you for all the cards and well wishes for our 48th Anniversary last Tuesday. Our church family is always so thoughtful, and we sure appreciate your kindness toward us!
Let me give you an update on Pastor Lewis Howell and his wife, Kim. They have been working day and night to get everything in order so they can get here soon - but not lose everything they own. Being in a Socialist country, things are quite different than here in America. The government is in charge of your move and there are dozens of hoops you have to jump through. They had to have yard work done, a retaining wall built, painting done, and then all of it inspected for approval. All of these efforts require stamps and permits, and all take time! All these things had to be done before they could put their house on the market!
So now, it looks like they will be able to put their house on the market this week! Please continue to pray for everything to fall into place! Pastor Howell told me last Monday they are getting so excited to get here and hopefully their house will sell quickly and they can get to Westminster. It won’t be as long as it has been - that is for sure! We need to get them here and get the Super 60’s ministry cranked up and running full bore and wide open! Please continue to pray for everything to fall into place for the Howells, so we can get them here safe and sound! And not just get them here safe and sound - but get them here without bankrupting them in the process. The taxes, the fees, and the shipping container to bring their belongings are costing them a big bundle!
