From My Heart
It is amazing how quickly the month of May flew past us! CCS graduation was a true blessing for our family because our third-oldest grandchild, Olivia, graduated. Evan, Lauren, and Ava came in from Orlando and spent the week with us, and it was wonderful having them here. We have enjoyed a great week together!
As the summer “unofficially” begins on Memorial Day, I want to kindly remind you not to forget your tithing obligations to the Lord. The financial obligations of the church continue throughout the summer months, so please remember to give even though you might be on a vacation somewhere. Our church family has always been very conscientious about this matter, and I certainly appreciate it!
This coming Wednesday evening, we will begin our summer program for the children called the Dynamite Club. It will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will run throughout the summer. You can bring your children, knowing they will be taught the Word of God, and you can come into the auditorium as we continue our Bible studies on our Statement of Faith, as found in our Church Constitution. We are taking each doctrine in our Statement of Faith, and we are learning what we believe, why we believe it, and hopefully learning how we can explain to others what we believe. (I Peter 3:15)
Next Sunday evening, after the church service, we are going to have an ice cream fellowship. I do not have a list of the flavors just yet, but I am sure there will be several flavors you would be interested in trying. When Pastor Ray announced the event last Sunday evening, I immediately received a text on my watch which said, “We need Moose Tracks ice cream for the church ice cream fellowship…or there will be trouble!” As you can see, folks in our church take their ice cream seriously! We always get our ice cream from Hoffman’s, so it is almost impossible to mess that up! Plan to be here next Sunday evening for a great time of fellowship.
Pastor Lewis Howell and his wife, Kim, will be heading this way on or around the 6th of June. They will have to stop in North Carolina to spend a few days at their Mission Board. They will have to close accounts with them, go through a checkout process, and then will head towards Westminster. Pray for things to go smoothly and for a safe trip!
Let’s pray for the Lord to bless and draw us close today. The Psalmist tells us, “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24) Let’s rejoice in the goodness of the Lord today!
