From My Heart

This is a glorious day, because the Maryland Senate could not muster enough votes to pass the House of Delegates Bill 649. The State of Maryland General “insane asylum” Assembly tried diligently to get this bill into law, but the bill died in the Senate. This was another “equal opportunity” proposal, which targeted private and church schools. If passed, it would have made it against the law for a Christian school (like Carroll Christian) to “discriminate” against anyone who wanted to attend our school, or who applied to work at CCS. We have guidelines (all in writing) in place to make sure we allow only those students (and staff) who share our Biblical values and who truly want to be here.

For instance, if a parent brought a student to enroll in our high school, and that student was openly and defiantly a homosexual, we would not allow that student to enroll. Under House Bill 649, that family could take CCS to court to sue us for discrimination. In other words, the bill would not protect the school, or the church (in our case, because CCS is a ministry of our church), but was designed to protect a small percentage of our population who have a mindset and set of values to which we do not adhere.

I am so thankful it did not pass! The man who wrote the bill was on a recent radio talk show, and he stated plainly that it was designed to silence the Christian schools and private schools across the state. This bill did not just represent a small change in procedure but would have been a fundamental change in WHO decides what counts as discrimination in education! The bill would have given the Maryland Civil Rights Commission the power and authority to investigate, adjudicate, and enforce claims made against any private school, including church-operated schools (like ours).

It failed this last week, but you can rest assured it will be resurrected next year…and they will keep bringing it up until they get what they want! And what these Marxists want is to have complete control over the entire educational system from the cradle to the grave! In their minds, you and I do not know how to raise children, so we must put them in the public school system so they can be trained to be perfect little mind-numbed robots! After all, every Maryland Democratic Socialist believes they own our children! So, this bill raises the question every parent needs to settle in their minds: Who ultimately has the authority over a child’s education: parents or the State?

School choice only works if schools are different! If every private school is forced by the State to conform to the same standards, guidelines, philosophy, and public pressures as public schools, then choice becomes a joke. The State of Maryland legislators do not want folks to have a choice, they want to force us to fall in line and be good little sheeple (I mean sheep)! This bill will be back again! So, we'd best prepare to fight this evil legislation. Have a great day!
