From My Heart

This evening after the service we are going to serve ice cream from Hoffman’s! We will have a variety of flavors and you can have as many different flavors as you would like. We will also have a sugar-free flavor, which is “vanilla fudge.” The flavors we have purchased are as follows: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, black cherry, chocolate chip, raspberry, peach, chocolate peanut butter, dreamsicle, butter pecan, peanut butter ripple, and our new flavor this year is called fudge tracks. Fudge tracks is a vanilla fudge with peanut butter cups.

One of the great advantages of coming to a local church is it gives believers the opportunity to fellowship with other believers. We are often admonished in the New Testament to get together as believers for the purpose of fellowshipping with one another. I have always been fascinated by words and their etymology. The word “fellowship” is a compound word, where two simple words come together to give a word picture of the meaning. Fellowship - it is like “two fellows in a ship.” The picture is not like two fellows on the Queen Mary or some huge steamship of the past…but two fellows in a ship, like a little fishing vessel.

Fellowship is so important to a Christian. It always thrills my heart to see folks standing around after a church service talking and enjoying the company of other folks. So, this evening is a great opportunity to meet someone new and get to know some of the folks you go to church with each week. I hope everyone will come back this evening and enjoy some great ice cream and some fellowship!

There is so much happening around the planet, and the mainstream news is only concerned with one issue, keeping Trump out of the White House. This week alone, we have had Putin, of Russia, threaten nuclear war with the United States because Biden has given Ukraine advanced rockets that can strike deep inside Russia. But you didn’t hear anything about that because it has nothing to do with hurting Donald Trump and keeping him from being re-elected. Also, this week, Saudi Arabia said they are no longer going to trade oil using US dollars but will use the Chinese yuan for sales in Asian nations.

This is going to hurt the strength of the dollar since the entire world buys and sells through the US dollar. If it does indeed happen, it will hurt America and create a ripple effect on weakening the entire world’s economy. And what did the media focus on this last week? Well, Melania has not been seen with Trump for a few days…which must mean he is not fit to be President again! She must be going to divorce him because he is now a convicted felon! It just never stops!!!! America’s weakness is being seen by the rest of the world, and this Administration seems to be unconcerned about it!

Please pray for our nation and pray for the soon return of our Lord!

Pastor Norris
