From My Heart
Thanksgiving is Thursday and it is one of my favorite holidays of the year. There is nothing quite as special as the family gathered around the table with a heart filled with thanks for what the Lord has done! Of course, Thanksgiving is the unofficial beginning of the Christmas Season. This is a busy time for our Church, and I want to encourage each of you to keep watch concerning the various activities that will happen throughout the month. The Church offices will be closed on Thanksgiving Day as well as on Friday of this week.
We have our annual Church Business Meeting scheduled for December 4th after the Wednesday Evening service. I hope you will attend the meeting as we present the 2025 Budget. Every person who regularly attends this Church needs to know the financial responsibility we have in the support of the budget we approve.
We also have Sunday School Class Christmas Dinners scheduled, so I trust you will sign up to get together with your class and enjoy one another’s fellowship. We rely on our Sunday School Classes to be one of the ways you can meet new folks and fellowship with your friends.
We also have our annual Christmas Cantata scheduled for December 15th. This service is a tremendous opportunity to invite your friends and family to attend with you. Everyone loves good Christmas music, especially when it is done as well as our choir and orchestra do it every year! I always have many folks come to me after the Cantata to tell me what a beautiful job everyone did and to let me know how refreshing it is to hear such beautiful hymns and carols!
Our Live Nativity is planned for December 7th. This is scheduled to take place on Saturday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. We are praying for many visitors to come to see the animals and watch the Bible characters and asking the Lord for many folks to come to Christ. Please join us here for the afternoon and also join us in praying for folks to receive Christ as their Savior.
Let me thank our Church family for your faithfulness during our revival services this last week. It was a wonderful four days, and the Lord moved and worked in our hearts. If there is one thing that is needed in America it is a Heaven-sent, Holy Spirit-empowered revival of God’s people across this land. II Chronicles 7:14 tells us this wonderful truth about revival, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Let’s keep those rekindled fires burning in our hearts where the Lord stirred us this week.
Have a wonderful week, and I trust all of you will have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving with your loved ones and friends. May the Lord bless each and every heart today as we hear what our wonderful Lord has to say.
